Do you think the President's plan to freeze interest rates on some sub prime mortgages will be successful?

The “Ron Paul Revolution” that promotes the candidacy of anti-war Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (Tex.) raised a whopping $4.2 million within 24 hours largely through web solicitations tied to Guy Fawkes Day.

Guy Fawkes Day is a British holiday that commemorates a November 5, 1605 rebellion plan to blow up the House of Commons, called the “Gunpowder Plot,” in order to kill King James and his family. Fawkes and his conspirators were caught before they could execute the plan and were later tortured and hanged.

The English often celebrate Fawkes with effigy burnings that are lit on Guy Fawkes night and by reciting a popular poem:

Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot.

Many Paul supporters circulated several short videos online which showcased supporters dressed as the protagonist in “V for Vendetta,” which is loosely based on Fawkes.

In other efforts to promote their candidate, Paul supporters have “Google bombed” his name, a tactic used to increase his name’s ranking in search engine results pages. The November 5 fundraising drive was similarly called a “money bomb” or a “Fawkes bomb.”

Paul spokesmen Jesse Benton has clarified to media that their campaign does not support the bombing of real buildings, but would like to “demolish things like the Department of Education.”

In the 2008 election season only Sen. Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.) has raised more than Paul in a single day. On June 30 she raked in $6.2 million.

...you don't deserve, I'll take that as something other than the sophomoric stumble into sarcasm.

If I wanted the hide off you, I'd have it.

I've been far more polite than your witlessness warrants.

Thanks for the measured, polite response. Good to see that side of the Ron Paul equation.
