Do you think the President's plan to freeze interest rates on some sub prime mortgages will be successful?

Most of the East was expected to remain dry Sunday, while showers and thunderstorms were forecast for the northern Rockies, the Great Basin, the Southwest and the central and southern Plains.

Snow and rain were forecast for the higher elevations of Utah and western Colorado. Showers were predicted to clear out of the Pacific Northwest.

To the east, the Great Lakes region and the Northeast were expected to remain mostly dry with fair conditions, though there was a slight chance for pockets of light rain over parts of New England. More stormy weather was forecast for southern and eastern Florida.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Saturday ranged from a low of 21 degrees at Merrill, Wis., to a high of 95 degrees at Vernon, Texas.
